I want to take a minute here to recognize some of my favorite heritage websites, and other websites I find plain interesting.

The Chop Shop Bar and Grill: The best darn burgers in the great State of Florida!  And cold Pabst Blue Ribbon beer!  What more could a rebel want?  Oh yeah, the best of classic country, alternative country, and rockabilly music playing from 11-9 everyday (excepting Sundays)!  Coolest joint around, owned by yours truly.

Sons of Confederate Veterans: "The citizen-soldiers who fought for the Confederacy personified the best qualities of America. The preservation of liberty and freedom was the motivating factor in the South's decision to fight the Second American Revolution." The SCV is a great organization promoting Southern history and heritage. I think they try to be too PC sometimes, but I also think they do a lot of great things to honour the South, regardless.

1st Battalion Florida Special Cavalry: MUST SEE SITE! This is a fantastic site with a wealth of information on the "Cow Cavalry". They are updating this site with new information, as we speak, and will soon have photos. I recommend everyone go to this site, if you are interested in Florida history!

Florida Cow Cavalry: Here is a nice little site about John T. Lesley's Company of Special Cavalry

Florida Civil War Rosters: The name speaks for itself. Look for your ancestors!

Florida Infantry Regiments: This page begins with an interesting article about black Confederate soldiers and continues with a large list of Florida regimental links and related book listings.

Looks like all my good links disappeared.  I'll post more if I find them.  If you discover any dead links on this page.  Please notify me.  But, I tell you, I rarely use this e-mail anymore due to massive spam attacks.

Yes, that's what you think it is.
In case you were beginning to think
mine was a perfect history, there were a couple of
men who met and/or created tragic ends in my heroic background.
The blonde guy, on the left, is my great-great-grandfather,
Theo Smith, and his partner-in-crime, Tom Faircloth.
Both sons of Confederate war heroes, and yet, they became
two of the last men publicly executed in the glorious state of
Florida. Two cowboys, gone bad, hanging for murder, on the
courtyard-lawn of Bronson, Florida.
